When an analyst, agent, or government official visits an external Web site, the agency’s IP address is detected and stored by Web analytic tools. These tools also collect the visitor’s operating system, Internet browser type and version, their physical location, and what they are viewing. Over time, online predators are able to build profiles on government agencies and their employees which can allow them to determine sensitive investigation or operation information.

Exposed IP addresses can hinder operations in other ways as well. It can lead to inaccurate information or blocked access to Web sites. Savvy Web administrators are able to show certain visitors, such as their government investigators, inaccurate or disguised information on their site. They also have the capabilities to block visitors from viewing their Web site altogether. How It Works

A secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) router is attached to the enterprise network externally to prevent intrusion. All network traffic is then re-routed to the Anonymizer Network, protecting users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. IP rotation changes the company’s IP address on a daily basis.

A Network Access Translation (NAT) module dynamically controls the IP address that is presented to the outside world. With this module, users have complete control to change the IP address at any point on their own. This feature has many options. It can be configured for manual intervention, or the sessions can be enabled for each user, even for each day.
